Rent out your car whenever you don't need it. You decide who rents it and when. We take care of the contract, payment, calendar, and handover photo report.

Digital contract

No more paperwork at handover. For every rental a contract is automatically generated during booking, which both parties then sign digitally.

Security deposit via Stripe, not cash

We charge the deposit to the renter's card and hold it until the rental ends. If everything's fine, we refund it. You never handle the money or the refund. If there's damage, we take care of the charge.

Your own price, deposit, and rules

In our web app you set the price, deposit, daily kilometre limit, surcharges, and when your car is available. Vroomio handles the rest.

Handover photo report

Before and after every rental, both parties complete an online report with timestamped photos, fuel level, and mileage. Everything is documented in case of a dispute.

What insurance do you need?

Extend your existing policy

With your insurer, set your vehicle's use to “commercial rental”, i.e. renting to third parties. This applies to both liability and comprehensive cover, and the premium tends to be higher than for private use. Without it, your insurer may reduce a claim payout or cancel your policy in the event of damage.

Insurance designed specifically for vehicle rental

A product for regular rental owners and operators of multiple cars. It covers operation in rental-business mode without limiting payouts due to commercial use.

Questions owners ask most often

How much can I earn on Vroomio?
It depends on the price you set, how often you make your car available, and demand in your area. In-demand and premium cars in larger cities earn more than an everyday car in a small town. We don't guarantee earnings, but a simple rule applies: the more days your car is available, the higher your potential income.
Who can rent a car from me?
Only verified users. For each one you can see ratings from other owners, so you know who you're dealing with, and you approve every rental request yourself. The final say is always yours.
Can I delist my car whenever I need it?
Anytime. You manage availability in the online calendar and can delist your car with no notice periods and no fees. No monthly payments, no commitment - when you don't want to rent your car out for a while, you simply hide it.
Can I list several cars on Vroomio at once?
Yes, there's no limit on the number of vehicles. Each car has its own calendar, pricing and rules, so you can start with one car and add more over time. For larger fleets we're preparing bulk-management tools. If you know what you'd need, write to us at team@vroomio.io.
What does using Vroomio cost me?
No monthly fees and no charge for listing your car. You only pay a commission on rentals that actually happen through the platform - if you don't rent your car out in a given month, you pay nothing. You can see Vroomio's commission when you set up your car, so you're never going in blind.
How much time does renting take? Do I have to be there for every handover?
You'll handle most of it from your phone. You approve a booking in a few taps, the contract is generated automatically, and you message the renter via the in-app chat. The only real time goes into handing over and taking back the car, and even that can be arranged contactlessly. The handover photo report takes just a few minutes.
I rent out an expensive car or campervan. What deposit and rules can I set?
For each car you set the price, deposit amount, daily kilometre limit, surcharges, and when it's available. We charge the deposit to the renter's card and hold it until the rental ends (refunding it after a trouble-free return), so for a pricier car you set a higher amount. You also approve every request yourself and can see the renter's ratings from other owners.
What if the renter damages my car?
Before and after every rental an online photo report with timestamps, odometer reading and fuel level is created, so the car's condition is documented from both sides. We also charge the deposit to the renter's card via Stripe and hold it until the rental ends; if all is well we refund it, and in case of damage we handle the charge for you.
How does insurance work when I rent my car out?
When you rent your car out for money, from your insurer's point of view that's a different type of use than ordinary private driving. It's a good idea to let them know in advance. It applies to both liability and comprehensive cover, and the premium then tends to be a bit higher. Check with your insurer whether your policy covers renting to third parties, or take out insurance designed specifically for vehicle rental. That way you have cover you can rely on if there's damage. For campervans, EVs and other specialised vehicles, we recommend checking the terms separately. Our own insurance through Vroomio is in the works.
As a rental operator I already have my own short-term rental insurance. Can I join?
Yes, that's ideal. For now you arrange insurance yourself, so if you already have cover for short-term commercial rentals, you're all set. Vroomio takes care of the contracts, calendar, deposits, and handover reports.
